I have always had a soft spot for railways and trains. Something to do with the thought of travel to new and interesting places, I suppose. Most of all I like to photograph steam trains- there is something magical about the sight of a steam locomotive working hard, belching out clouds of steam - like some sort of fire-breathing dragon! So here is a collection of my favourite railway images, featuring in particular the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway in the North of England.
