About Me and My Photography

I live and work in the Eden Valley in Cumbria, situated mid-way between the popular Lake District National Park and the wild and largely unspoilt North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The bleak limestone plateau of Orton Scar, the Howgill Fells, and Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales are just a few miles further away.  Very differing landscapes,  each has its own special characteristics.

I am first and foremost a landscape photographer - make that a local  landscape photographer. Like many photographers I have at times succumbed to the urge to travel to far-flung places in search of more exotic subjects.  I don’t really care for ‘mission statements’. But if I had to have one, it would just be to create exceptional images of my local patch.
